Individual Use - $9.99Class & Group Use - $15.99

You have to try it to believe it – this is completely different than any other cycling workout video you’ve ever done. Want to be sure? Read feedback on The Downward Spiral by cyclists like you. This is the only cycling workout video featuring officially licensed ASO cycling spring Classics, packaged around a 60minute structured interval workout with 16+ flat-out power intervals. No more watching people ride their bikes in a spin studio while some coach barks at you: The Sufferfest puts you right in the action of the world’s best races.

Workout Details

The Downward Spiral workout was designed to work you at your maximum level, in sustainable, decreasing time periods. And to make you beg for mercy. But that’s a side effect of The Sufferfest, you know. Here’s what you’ll get over the 60 minutes:

  • Approx 10mins warm-up featuring two 30 second jumps. Video footage is from Downhill MTB Championships in Australia, and from Cyclingtipsblog.com criterium racing.
  • First descending-interval set (with Paris-Roubaix footage)
    • 2:00 min interval / 2:00 recovery
    • 1:45 min interval / 1:45 recovery
    • 1:30 min interval / 1:30 recovery
    • 1:15 min interval / 1:15 recovery
    • 1:00 min interval / 1:00 recovery
    • :45 sec interval / :45 recovery
    • :30 sec interval / :30 recovery
    • :15 sec interval
  • 5:00 recovery featuring trail riding in Oregon by The Rooster Blocker.
  • Second descending-interval set (Same structure as first set, but this time with Fleche-Wallone footage – and with a small surprise ‘bonus’ at the end).
  • 4:00 warm-down, featuring the 2009 Zurich Bicycle Film Festival entry by Gorilla Bicycles.

There are also alternative ways to ride The Downward Spiral so you can be sure to get a full indoor-season’s use out of it.

Soundtrack

We’ve handpicked a selection of pounding, up-beat, motivating alt-rock songs. 15 in all!

Individual use vs. Class & Group Use

  • Individual: Going to watch the Downward Spiral alone at home or the gym on your iPod or iPhone? Then the Individual version is for you. (Note – these versions are not licensed for class or group use.) (Note: The files are .mp4 and are approx. 700mb)
  • Class & Group: Plan on using The Downward Spiral in your next spinning class or group cycling session? Then purchase this version, which is licensed for group use. By purchasing the Class & Group version you’ll get:
    1. The Individual version (which you can also use in class or group sessions)
    2. An Instructor version licensed for group/class use and which allows you to design your own workout using the Sufferfest footage. It has fewer instructions, no recommended effort levels and no taunts (you can taunt the class yourself!). Note: this instructor DOES have music (Fight Club instructor version does not).
    3. A PDF document which provides a blow-by-blow description of the workout, background on the races featured, and ideas on how to get the most out of your class during the workout. (Note: The files are .mp4 and are approx. 700mb)

Resolution

The Sufferfest is small screen optimised. It’s designed to look best on iPhones, iPods and laptops. It will still look good on larger screens (e.g., monitors, televisions), but just not as sharp.
