What good cause can our suffering support?

Guys – need some thoughts: I’m going to donate 5% of the revenue from the Sufferfest video sales. The obvious choice is Livestrong or World Bicycle Relief. But I’m leaning toward Room to Read, which is my favorite charity and which fights illiteracy. Any suggestions/feedback on a good cause where our suffering could help alleviate it in others? Oh…and only a few days to the launch of The Downward Spiral! My wife did it this morning as a trial run…she really liked it (whew)…and she even caught a couple of small things I had to fix before final release. Thanks,

Soundtracks

Over in the Facebook group, Sufferfriend Adam Zilvin asked about the soundtracks for the old Sufferfests. Here they are! If you want some great music to workout to, these tracks are some of my favorites. I can’t afford the rights to this kind of music for the new Sufferfests…it would cost billions! But you can purchase the entire soundtrack as an iMix from iTunes, or just the tracks you like. Some tracks might not be featured (a few of the trance tracks) because iTunes doesn’t have them – but for the most part everything is there! Enjoy!

The Downward Spiral Trailer

You’ve probably seen, by way of the homepage or the Video Sufferfest page, the trailer for the new Sufferfest indoor cycling working video. I’m really excited about The Downward Spiral – it’s a tough, 60 minute workout for your home trainer/spin bike and the footage is great. The trailer was incredible fun to put together – the clips come from the actual Downward Spiral workout…so what you see is what you’ll be getting! I obsessed over the trailer a bit…amazing how much time you can spend on a 1min 10second video! I really wanted to get a sense of excitement

DVD Review – Epic Tuscon – from Epic Planet

Cycling DVD –Epic Planet’s Epic Tuscon Price – $29.95 (for two DVDs or digital downloads) Rating – *** 1/2 (out of *****) Summary – First-person, high-quality footage up a beautiful climb in Arizona. Dreadful music. NOTE: Since this review, we’ve also done some of the newer videos (2013) from EpicRides. They’ve improved their music and the graphics on screen. There’s also more footage from ‘behind’ the riders, which helps in immersing you in the experience. If you’re looking for ‘real rides’ kind of videos, these guys are raising their game. Although I’m spending a fair bit of time on the

Game on.

I love the guys at ASO. I came to them with a totally bizzare request (at least from their point of view) to license me only a few minutes of their race footage. Now, you have to know, they are used to licensing the ENTIRE RACE, either for a DVD or television or online broadcasting…whatever. But for a cycling workout video? I really thought it was going to be incredibly difficult to make it happen. But from the very first contact, Nicolas, my contact at ASO was simply fantastic. He listened, he was open, he understood the needs of thousands

Two New Sufferfest videos in production!

My god, it’s fall already…all of us here at Sufferfest Studios (that would be, uh, me) hope you had a nice, easy and enjoyable outdoor season and are ready to get back down to the hard, nasty, sweaty, grimy, hard-as-nails indoor season again. All that outdoor stuff is cake compared to what awaits you and your aspirations for 2010 this winter!!!!! I’ve started production on Sufferfest 6 and 7. Yay! More misery to keep you company! SF6 will be out in November, and SF7 will come out in early December. Both will be about an hour long. SF6 is shaping

Those that Suffer together, Stay Together

Susan Aspenson Murray and her spin class in Monument, Colorado sent me this photo. Once a month, she and her Sufferfest crew have “Sufferfest Saturday.” She puts together her own music, and even adds a bit of climbing to Sufferfest 4 (Sadist!)! Well, she and the crew sent me this photo – everyone looks awesome and I just love seeing those Suffer T-Shirts! Thanks Susan and crew for sending on the photo!
