The Book of Suffering – Now available and FREE!

You got dressed 20 minutes ago and have been sitting in the chair since then. Finally, you rise. You look at the bike. The bike on the turbo trainer. You adjust the straps on your shoes – but they don’t need more adjusting. Enough delay. Get on with it. You approach the book on the counter – you open it, seeking inspiration from words, from images of other lonely bike torture chambers. “Know how sublime a thing it is to suffer and be strong,” says Longfellow. You close the book – The Book of Suffering – and get on the

A Sufferlandrian rides

Got this great photo from a Sufferlandrian named Denley Drummond. He was doing a race – the 24 Hours of Adrenalin – in Alberta, Canada and chose to wear his new Sufferfest jersey. I thought I’d share it with you as I just love this shot – especially the lighting and the fact that there is a rider far off in the distance (clearly dropped by Denley – since it’s forbidden to be passed by anybody while wearing a ‘fest jersey).

20% discount for Sufferlandrians on supplements

I never used to be a supplement guy. Maybe I would take a vitamin, but I certainly wasn’t…religious about it or anything. But lately I’ve been using some supplements from a company called Core6. Have been popping their enzymes, probiotics, vitamins, minerals, fatty acids and antixoxidants for about six months now. After every ‘fest workout and ride I’ve also been drinking a big glass of milk with their protein and veggie greens powders. What originally attracted me was that their stuff was all natural and that you only had to take three capsules to get all six essential elements. I’ve

In Sufferlandria

We recently asked our followers on Twitter (http://twitter.com/#!/thesufferfest) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/thesufferfest) if they’ve ever been to Sufferlandria and if they could tell us a little bit about it. It seems to be a popular destination. You all have paid a visit to the land of misery, suffering and increasing speed. Here’s what we found out (thanks to everyone who submitted and keep ‘em coming!) In Sufferlandria….. …the locals think “go to hell” is a vacation. …everyone’s middle name is IWBMATTKYT. …Sufferlandrians only have 2 speeds: stop and anything above lactate threshold. …Sufferlandrian Airlines checks suitcases of courage free of charge.

British madman does all six videos for charity, gets Knighted, inspires millions and suggests you do it too.

You might not have heard of Darren Roberts  before, but you need to. For all of you who have struggled to find the motivation to do the sprints at the end of Local Hero, who have thought about bailing on that last surprise interval in Revolver, who have said F-YOU to the last :15 intervals in Downward Spiral, you need to listen to this. Conehead, as he is known, just did all SIX FREAKING VIDEOS BACK TO BACK. Epic. Epic. Epic. We, Sufferlandrians, have a new benchmark for suffering that we should all aspire, too. After hearing about this feat,

Which video?

With six videos now in the ‘fest collection, Sufferlandrians might have a harder time figuring out which one should be next in their collection. Here’s a handy little comparision table that might help out:

My first Criterium in 18 years

Did my first criterium in 18 years this past weekend at the OCBC Cycle Singapore. I raced in the Masters (40+) race, and none other than multiple Olympic rider and Commonwealth Gold Medalist Graeme Miller was in my race. Gulp. Graeme finished 3rd and I finished 10th (only 7 places but several worlds apart). I made many faces of pain during the race.
